What we cut
Six materials, cut daily. If your job sits outside these thicknesses, ask and we will tell you straight away whether we can do it.
MDF 3 to 12 mm
Raw, primed and veneered board for signage, layered artwork, mandalas, templates and joinery parts. Clean edges with a light scorch that sands or paints well.
Acrylic 2 to 10 mm
Cast and extruded, clear, opal, coloured, mirror and fluorescent. Flame-polished edges straight off the laser, ideal for LED signs, QR plaques and displays. Choosing acrylic sheet
Vinyl PVC-free only
Adhesive, heat-transfer and sign vinyls cut to shape for decals, labels and stencils. We cut PVC-free vinyl only, as PVC is unsafe to laser. Laser-cut vinyl stickers
Leather 1 to 5 mm
Veg-tan and chrome-tan hides cut and engraved for tags, patches, wallets, straps and branded goods. Crisp detail on small lettering and logos.
Thin polycarbonate 1 to 3 mm
Thin sheet cut for gaskets, guards, overlays and templates. We keep polycarbonate to 3 mm so the edge stays clean and free of discolouration. Can polycarbonate be laser cut?
Timber 3 to 18 mm
Plywood, bamboo, pine, hardwood veneers and solid boards. Great for photo frames, wedding signage, lamps, boxes and layered pieces. Laser-cut wooden signs

We confirm material, time on the laser and any setup, then send a fixed price.
- We cut and finish
Parts are cut, cleaned of residue and checked against your file. Most jobs are ready in 3 to 5 working days.
- Pick up in Coomera or we post
Collect from the workshop or have it shipped anywhere in Australia.

Before you send a file
The questions we get asked most. Anything else, ask in the quote form.
- What is the largest sheet you can cut?
- Up to 1300 × 900 mm in one piece. Larger designs are split into panels that join on assembly.
- What file formats do you accept?
- DXF, SVG, AI and PDF, drawn at 1:1 scale in millimetres. A JPG or a sketch is fine for a quote; we will redraw it for cutting at the design rate.
- How should I set up my file?
- Cut lines as a hairline red stroke, engraved areas as filled black, score lines in blue. Convert text to outlines and remove duplicate lines.
- Do you supply the material?
- Yes. We stock MDF, plywood and acrylic in common thicknesses and can order others. You are welcome to bring your own sheet, as long as it is laser-safe.
- How long will my job take?
- Most jobs are ready in 3 to 5 working days from approval. Tell us your deadline and we will say up front whether we can meet it.
- Do you cut metal, or anything else to avoid?
- No metal at all. We also do not cut PVC, vinyl containing chlorine, fibreglass, polycarbonate over 3 mm, or ABS, as they are unsafe or damage the machine.
- Is there a minimum order?
- No minimum quantity. Small jobs are charged the setup fee plus machine time, so a single part is fine.
- Where are you and can I pick up?
- Coomera, QLD 4209, on the northern Gold Coast. Pick-up is by appointment, or we post anywhere in Australia.

About GC Laser Cut
GC Laser Cut is a small workshop in Coomera, on the northern Gold Coast, built around one 130-watt CO2 laser and the materials it cuts best. We cut and engrave MDF, acrylic, vinyl, leather, thin polycarbonate and timber, and we do not cut metal.
Every job is handled by the person who runs the machine. You send a file or a sketch, we check it for kerf, nesting and anything that will not cut cleanly, and we tell you before we start. Deadlines are agreed up front and met.
We nest parts tightly and keep offcuts for small jobs, so less sheet goes to waste. Scrap MDF and timber are recycled rather than binned.
